Questions
What is the best time of year to prune trees?
Pruning is best done in fall or winter when trees heal better with minimal reaction growth. Some species may benefit from seasonal adjustments.
How do I know if my tree is too close to my house?
Large trees should be at least 10 feet from structures. Species like Sweetgum Maple require more distance due to extensive root systems.
Why shouldn't I top my tree?
Topping weakens trees, promotes hazardous regrowth, and introduces rot. It can reduce property value and require eventual removal.
What signs indicate a tree is unhealthy?
Browning at the tree's top, mushrooms on the trunk, or sudden branch dieback signal serious health issues requiring arborist assessment.
Can birch trees in Portland be saved from borers?
Birch Borer infestations are often fatal. Regular spraying may delay decline, but infected trees typically require removal to prevent spread.
What areas do you service?
We serve Portland, Lake Oswego, Oregon City, Happy Valley, Wilsonville, Beaverton, Sherwood, Tualatin, and surrounding areas.

Very professional, timely and responsive. Good pricing as well, I had a few quotes and they were very reasonably priced. We had a large tree in the front of our house on a busy street close to the powerlines, a fence and both our house and the neighbors in a tight spot and it was perfect. I would definitely recommend them for any other services required.

Jordan and his crew were fantastic. They arrived, got right to work and asked me to check the pruning before they left for the day. They were friendly when I ventured outside and were very professional. Someone from PDX Tree Service will return to grind the stump and it is guaranteed I will use this company to manage all the trees in my yard going forward. Job well done
Thank you. Robbin

These guys are great! They provided a free estimate with options to fit my budget. Arrived for the estimate and the job when they said they would. They removed a 60' cedar tree that was in a difficult spot in my back yard and was heavily leaning towards my house. They even cleaned off a ton of needles off my roof and out of my yard. Everyone was courteous and professional. Cannot recommend enough.

They were amazing!! Definitely recommend them to anyone. They took out our giant Doug fir plus pruned 3 more trees in one day. They were super nice and generous and even cut and left some branches for me for my wood turning hobby.

We had a tree partially fall due to wind - leaving a 75 portion on the ground and the remaining 100+ damaged tree standing. Josiah and the crew that came out were fantastic! Even cleaned up the mess the fallen tree left behind like it never happened. PDX tree service exceeded expectations in every way! Thank you all!
