BARN XO is a family-owned furniture manufacturer that was humbly born out of our home garage in the Chicagoland area. It all started in 2013 as a fun project between to brothers who wanted to surprise their mother with a dining room table. Not before long, it became our family's passion to continue building beautifully timeless, eco-friendly furniture that others could showcase in their own homes.

Reclaimed Wood

Reclaimed Wood or Lumber has a past and has been used for buildings and structures from the 18th to the early 20th century. The wood is recycled and reused to meet today's ever-growing need for sustainable and eco-friendly homes and businesses. Today's century-old reclaimed wood emerges from a time when wood was in abundance, both in North America and Europe, and was used as a principal building material.
Kiln Dried Reclaimed Wood

Kiln drying is a standard practice in wood production mills and serves to efficiently bring green lumber moisture levels down to "workable" range-moisture content levels to prevent the array of problems that can be caused by excess moisture levels in wood. Depending on the origin, species, and type of wood, the moisture content before kiln drying can be 15% or greater when we acquire it.
