Gopher Page
Report
Dogs, cats, coyotes, egrets, and other predators often hunt gophers- some with much more success than others! Care must be taken when doing gopher control around your pets but with some knowledge and a few precautions, it can be done safely. Notice that gopher mounds can vary dramatically in how much soil is pushed up to the surface but that the hole is always plugged once the gopher has finished using it.
Common Landscape Pests
Report
Pocket Gophers are the most common burrowing rodents we get called about. The destructive tunneling and consumption of valuable plants make them very unwelcome in the landscape. Gophers rarely leave the burrow and they always construct a soil plug to conceal the entrance to the burrow system. We specialize in gopher control and welcome the opportunity to be of service.

Gopher Control Prep Sheet
Report
Damp soil that is uniformly moist to a depth of at least 4 and has been for at least several days before treatment. Dry soil is difficult to work with. It's either too hard or it collapses when we try to find the tunnel. Avoid having dry patches due to spotty irrigation- this includes drip irrigation which only waters around the base of each plant, leaving the rest of the area dry.

The company did a nice job of getting rid of the gophers in our yard after we tried off-th-shelf methods which were not successful.
Three treatments were needed to get rid of the majority of the gophers in both the front and back yards. (5 mounds in the front yard. About 10 mounds in the back yard). An extra treatment was needed in the back yard to finally exterminate the last of the bunch.
The ARV website regarding gophers was informative and helped us prep the yard prior to arrival of the exterminator.
