How to Measure

If your wall doesn't make a straight rectangle, you'll need to break it smaller rectangles and multiply the same. Treat a 90 degree angled wall as a standard rectangle. Measure, and then divide by two. To calculate for waste and any of the minor manufacturing defects allowable in wood flooring, after you've got your final calculations, we recommend adding 10% to your final total measurement.
Hardness Chart

Throughout the wood flooring industry, the Janka Hardness Chart is recognized as the main source for questions related to the density and relative hardness of both domestic species as well as exotic wood species from around the world. Janka Hardness ratings are determined by testing how much force it takes to embed half of a.444 inch steel ball's diameter into a piece of wood from a particular wood species.
Edge Styles
Report
Defined, edge styles are the finished sides and end joints of each unique hardwood board found within a given collection. Each wood floor that we carry at ReserveHardwoodFlooring.com will feature one of four types of edges: Square edge, Micro Bevel, Eased Edge, and Beveled Edge. Unfinished floors are usually always manufactured with square edges and prefinished with micro beveled or eased edges.
Moisture Control
Report
When receiving wood flooring the customer is to acclimate the floor to the environment. We recommend following the NWFA's guidlines for acclimation. Solid flooring generally takes 10 - 14 days to acclimate and then check and see if the moisture level of the floor is between 6% - 9%. That is the moisture level percent for most regions.
