About Us
SLS Construction & Building Solutions LLC is a family owned & run company started by me, Sean Lintow Sr. I have over 20 years in the construction & project management arenas. I have been blessed to work on some pretty interesting projects (1879 Historic House Renovation, 2 day builds, houseboats, ICF LEED Platinum house, and the list goes on).
New Construction
As a Certified Home Energy Rater and ICC Residential Energy Inspector / Plans Examiner, we can provide you with the needed energy models, code compliance reports, certified duct leakage (aka duct blaster testing) and envelope leakage results (aka blower door testing) that are required. Illinois Duct Leakage Testing DET Verification
The Duct Tightness (AKA Duct Leakage or Duct Blaster Test) is only required for new systems when the entire HVAC system and duct work is not completely contained inside the buildings thermal envelope. Depending on which Compliance Path you chose when initially pulling your permit will determine the allowable leakage rate - is it 3%, 4%, or does it just need to be tested?
Illinois Envelope Leakage Testing DET Verification
A Blower Door Test AKA an Envelope Leakage Test is a diagnostic test to measure how tight or leaky a home, unit, or building is. This test is mandated by the energy codes for new construction (aka Duct & Envelope Tightness or DET) but is also used to help diagnose issues &/or tighten up ones existing home.

We are a certified independent third party verifier that helps ensure everything was done right the first time. Preliminary Rating: We will work with you, your architect &/or designer to help you get the best bang for your buck up front by using our 20+ years of experience & knowledge to get it designed right from the start.
Insurance Scope Review Services
We are proud to offer Insurance Scope Review Services for homeowners & contractors who don't speak "insurance". Let us help you by utilizing our 6 +years experience, and being Certified Level 3 in Xactimate (program most Insurance companies use) to help identify those missing line items. What is this exactly?
Infrared Thermography
Infrared thermography is one of the most cost effective predictive maintenance technologies available to quickly, accurately, and without interruption of operations, locate problems in various types of systems prior to failure. In layman terms Infrared Thermography is a non-destructive testing method that detects abnormal heat patterns from an object enabling companies to reduce downtime, prevent failures, increase efficiency & save money.

I just have a few simple questions and/or I don't think I need a full blown audit or assessment.
