Consultations can be scheduled to address specific issues, to acquire plant recommendations for particular areas, to gain advice on maintenance issues such as pruning or as a first step toward a detailed master plan. Work with new clients, begins with an in-depth consultation.

Our garden coaching services range from teaching do-it-yourselfers proper planting and pruning techniques to advising property owners who want to create a landscape that is a sustainable habitat for both humans and wildlife. Maintenance recommendations are based on organic culture with an Integrated Pest Management approach.

As part of our mission to "get you gardening, " we offer workshops designed for novice gardeners and those new to the Triangle. Topics include soil preparation, proper planting, basic maintenance and more. While classes are targeted for beginners, interested gardeners of all experience levels are welcome.

We welcome opportunities to share our knowledge and enthusiasm for native plants and sustainable gardening with garden clubs and other groups. With continued urbanization and ever-decreasing acres of farm fields and woodland, the way we manage our residential landscapes has never been more important for the survival of pollinators, songbirds, and other wildlife.

Gardener by Nature emphasizes native plants for their benefit to birds and other wildlife. We employ sustainable landscape practices including avoiding the use of insecticides and chemical fertilizers. Dale is a frequent contributor to Triangle Gardener Magazine, writing about native plants and sustainable landscape practices.
