I love Gertens but not for Christmas. Unhelpful staff that are not trained to help with trees. No drilling for stands, questionable ability to secure tree to a car, and an incredibly snotty manager leading the tree area.

So it's my sweet grandma's 70th birthday and I came in this "establishment" looking for a plant to gift her. To my surprise, there were no good options. Very boring and stale selection. The only positive side was the girl who helped me out , Nicole. She was very knowledgeable of plants and pointed me to a shop were I found what I was looking for.

I have purchased 6 hostas here, two of which tested positive for Hosta Virus X (HVX). I contacted the company and got a fairly blas response that they'd pass the info to their growers. HVX is a contagious hosta disease that can spread from plant to plant via tools, etc. I can't afford to lose my 250+ hosta collection because nurseries aren't testing for diseases such as HVX. I thought Gertens would be a good source for disease free plants--I was wrong.

Timed it perfectly before today’s huge storm! In the short time I was there I interacted with four very knowledgeable workers and came home with a trunk and backseat full of treasures!
