Every Fall Chesapeake Master Gardener Volunteers visit First Grade Classrooms across Chesapeake Public Schools to Teach about Trees and Plant Trees. Plant a Row will continue to collect fresh produce as well as canned and packaged goods through the middle of December. We have collected 12,196 lb to date but the need to feed the hungry continues to grow.
The collection site is at the Chesapeake Library on Cedar Road every Tuesday morning from 9 am to noon. Thank you to all of our neighbors and friends who came out to the sale and purchased plants. We can't wait to see your beautiful yards and gardens as they grow this year.

The intern class of 2021 have completed their virtual and inperson training classes. They will continue with their volunteer hours until they establish enough hours to become a Periennial Master Gardener. One of their assignments is to write an article to post on our website. Directions: From Battlefield South, turn Right onto Cedar Road; take the 4th Right on Library Rd.

The Green Thumb Gardening Series offers residents of Hampton Roads classes, workshops, and tours in partnership with VCE Master Gardeners of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach. A new series of five classes starts every year in April and runs through mid-May, The schedule for 2020 is below.
