ProVision Solar was founded in 1988 under Hawaiian Electric Industries to take advantage of the growing market for photovoltaic solar systems. In 2003, it was purchased from HEI by Marco Mangelsdorf and Douglas Bath. We are now headquartered in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii and we are committed to providing our communities with premier solar-electric products and services for homes, businesses, and organizations.

Originally ProVision Solar Inc. was incorporated as ProVision Technologies, Inc. in 1998 under Hawaiian Electric Industries to take advantage of the growing market for photovoltaic (PV) applications across the Hawaiian Islands. In 2003, Marco Mangelsdorf, one of ProVision's original employees, and his childhood friend, Douglas Bath, purchased ProVision from HEI and have been at the helm ever since.

ProVision has been doing only PV since 1998. We are a fully licensed electrical contractor and the state's oldest pure solar electric company. Taking care of each other and having each other's backs is what the ProVision ohana is all about. And, of course, taking care of those home and business owners who provide us with their business and entrusting us to take care of them.
System Checkup

ProVision Solar is now offering a System Check-Up for your PV system by one of our experienced electricians. Voltage and current checks for solar module strings (for systems with one or more string inverters). Inspect your system for any possible obstructions, shading concerns, or material that could block your system from working.
