A lot of times we are asked, "Will a palapa hold up well in the wind?" Palapas originated in hurricane regions in Mexico, Florida, the Carribean, and Polynesian Islands. They are perfect for windy areas. Palapas hold up in strong winds because of their venting affect allowing wind to blow through them while also creating a cooling sensation of 10 degrees or more.

We can professionally put a new layer on your existing palapa or we can tear off all the old and replace with palm layers to refresh your palapa. This is not something we have to do very often with our custom palapas because they are built to last. We mainly offer this service to customers that have kit palapas that did not hold up to our Arizona weather.

We purchased a palapa about 5 years ago in our former home from The Palapa Guy's. It was a two pole custom palapa approx 18 x 9 wide to cover our B-B-Q and seating area. The palapa was the talk of the neighborhood and was one of our better purchases for the house at the time. We purchased a Palapa from The Palapa Guy's and what a difference it made in our back yard. It feels like a resort. We have coffee under the Palapa in the morning and a drink under it in the afternoon. It gave us shade and softened the back yard, we have a pool that is really beautiful but when people come over they always point at the Palapa and say, "That is so cool."
