Sproul's Furniture

Founded in 1938 by John A. Sproul, our furniture business has operated continuously in Newcastle, Maine, adjacent to the Damariscotta Bridge. We specialize in blending traditional and contemporary furniture styles to meet evolving customer preferences while maintaining a commitment to American craftsmanship. Our two-story showroom features twenty distinct rooms displaying cottage, classic, modern, and contemporary designs, with a focus on durable, stylish pieces that reflect Maine's coastal heritage. We prioritize customer satisfaction through personalized services like in-home decorating consultations, precise measurements, and professional delivery setup. As a family-owned business now managed by Laura Sproul, John's daughter, we maintain our philosophy of putting customers first while sourcing products from reputable American manufacturers.

Regular updates to our interior displays ensure we remain current with design trends. Our selection includes custom Maine-made furniture, slip-covered sofas, vintage items, and industrial accents, supported by a dedicated team of sales associates and delivery professionals. We also offer curated collections from brands like Maine Woodworks and Four Seasons Furniture. Our commitment to quality extends to using environmentally friendly materials where possible, such as Parawood from sustainable sources. This blend of tradition, customer service, and modern design has sustained us for over eight decades in the furniture industry.
