My name is Joe Cappel. I started the company in 1998, while still in high school. I realized I had a passion for landscaping after working a part-time job for a west-side greenhouse and decided to go into business for myself. I began with a 20 John Deere lawn mower, a Stihl blower and trimmer, in a 1985 Dodge pick-up equipped with a dump bed.

Annual flowers fall into two categories: varieties that like it warm and varieties that like it cool. Most cool-season annuals, such as pansies and violas, nemesia, diascia, calendula, poppy, snapdragon, and sweet alyssum, can take a little frost. Plant them in beds and borders or containers and gain a few early weeks of color.

As the season progresses, and you evaluate how your garden has performed throughout the season there are things that performed well, and other things that just weren't up to snuff. Fall is the time when you can fix those problem areas. While it's still fresh in your mind, you can move those plants that just didn't perform as they should have, or add plants in areas that didn't fill out as you expected.
