Hatch Transformers was founded in 1985 to design and manufacture electronic compact fluorescent ballasts and electronic low voltage transformers for the lighting industry. At the time, virtually all non-incandescent lamps were powered by heavy and inefficient magnetic power supplies. With its first products launching in 1985, Hatch was one of only two companies manufacturing electronic transformers for these two new burgeoning lighting markets.
