Richard started his own construction business in 1985 in Maryland. In an effort to stay close to their families, Richard and his wife Tracey relocated the construction business to Beaver County, Pennsylvania in 1988 after the birth of their first child. In 1984, Richard and Tracey Chiappetta started Chip's Construction Corporation in Maryland.
