Algae, Fungus, and Lichen
Report
The dark staining is algae and fungus infestation. The Lichen is usually in bloom-like shapes and can be colored green or white with small shades of orange. The dark staining on the shingles can be very unsightly and up until now, was believed to have no long term affects to an asphalt roof. Recent studies have shown fungus and lichen may affect the overall performance of an asphalt shingle.
Hail Damage to Asphalt Shingles

Impact fracturing causing a reduction in the water shedding capabilities as a result of impact caused ruptures or fractures in the reinforcement mat. Impact damage causing a reduction in the expected long-term service life of the material as a result of asphalt exposure within well defined consistent patterns of impact marks.
Wind Damage
Report
Creased or fractured shingles or shingle tabs usually found at the top of the shingle exposure. Is a roof system compromised or a shingle considered damaged by wind if the shingle is no longer sealed at the manufacturer seal line?. As a result of normal aging, weathering, and degradation of the components of the asphalt shingle, the adhesion qualities of the shingle will diminish.
