Ecofibre - a global leader in innovative hemp technologies - recognized an opportunity to expand its embryonic U.S. operations upon the passage of legislation by Congress that loosened restrictions on hemp production. To meet the growing demand for the sustainable and medicinal properties the crop affords, a new, sustainable, multi-purpose facility was essential.

To better reflect the population growth in Louisville's suburban areas, the Louisville Free Public Library developed a master plan which earmarked construction of three new regional branches to ensure that 90% of the city's residents would live within 5 miles of a full service library.

Louisville Water Company's roots trace back as far as 1860, with some of the buildings still powering today's regional water supply, dating to the late 1800's and early 1900's. Over time, wear and tear takes its toll, even on the most well-built structures.

The University of Kentucky - the commonwealth's flagship university - experienced a rise in enrollment in its science program as the building housing much of that department's activity continued to show its age. To reaffirm UK's commitment to excellence in science, the University decided to build a new facility to accommodate that growth while providing a cutting-edge classroom experience where students can thrive.
