Jody Fencl, owner of Wildwood Floors, created the company in 1996. Originally, the business was based in Cedar Rapids, IA with a focus on serving residential and small business customers. In 2004 Wildwood Floors expanded it's reach to Des Moines and throughout the rest of Iowa. The company has continued steady growth, and in 2007 was divided into two separate owners to better serve major regions in Iowa.

Day to day cleaning isn't much different from other floor coverings (carpet, tile, laminate, linoleum). If you have a vacuum cleaner that has a "hard floor" setting (which most all vacuum cleaners sold today have), you just need to run your vacuum on the hard floor setting to get rid of all dust, debris, dirt, etc.

There are very few flooring materials that have stood the test of time as long as wood. Wood floors that are properly cared for can last for hundreds of years as witnessed in Asia and Europe. While natural stone and granite are also extremely durable, they do not provide the warmth and relaxed feel associated with hardwood.

Custom installation of solid hardwood ranging from common red oak to intricate inlays and borders. We can also connect to existing wood flooring to add new rooms. Typically, we supply all materials but can work with customer provided materials as well. Sand & finish off existing hardwood floors and apply applications of new finish.
