We were in a jam due to a family emergency and our movers couldn't accommodate packing the remaining items we had left prior to move date. So we reached out to D1 moving to pack the remaining items. While I appreciate them stepping up and doing it with two days notice, and we were willing to pay their overinflated price to do so, the quality was terrible.
First: one of them showed up stoned.
While we didn't notice at first, we heard her state it to the other worker. She was the one who also did a terrible packing job. She would pack boxes, then flip them and label them incorrectly. So

Cannot believe what a bad job packing one of their personal did. The young man packing the upstairs of our house literally turn drawers upside down and dumped contents into a box and sealed it up. It took 5 days to find my casual shorts which was in a box of my wife's clothes. Boxes were not labeled or if they were, poorly done. My wife's jewelry box was found upside down in a box with contents spilling out. I don't understand why there wasn't a more competent person doing that part of the job. Would I recommend them or use them again? No, probably not! And I find it difficult

BUYER BEWARE! Take these negative reviews seriously before you hire this company. They moved us over 2 weeks ago, caused extensive damage, and now won't return calls or emails. There are so many moving companies in Richmond, do yourself a favor and choose someone else. My next call is to my lawyer. Who needs this hassle?

I have waited since January to give this company a review for I was and still am furious with them. They damaged many items, said they would get them repaired and then never returned my calls to the office even though I provided my new telephone number to them repeatedly. They never brought the furniture/framed photos/etc. that they kept to get repaired back to me. I live less than a half mile from their office on Bethlehem Road. I have found pieces of my antique furniture broken off of the furniture and then placed back to look like all was fine. The moving people were not what I expected,

I do not recommend D1 Moving unless you're a glutton for punishment. I echo another review of D1 Moving when I say, you get what you pay for. The hasty quote I was given by James Harrison was vague and inaccurate. I withdrew the quoted amount in cash for payment. At the end of the move the cost nearly doubled because it took longer than quoted, that's a dishonest and dirty way of doing business. I overheard the conversation between James and one of the movers when he called James to discuss payment as I was standing right next to him. James was verbally disrespectful about me (the client

THIS COMPANY IS WORTH IT!!! I loved the fact that it is a local company and they accommodated all my needs. The movers were super efficient, thoughtful of my things and great to work with. Unexpected things always happen when moving but all and all I give them an A++. Will definitely use them when I move back home!

I found the D1 moving team to be very efficient, polite and easy to work with! In addition, their price was more than competitive with the market. I was initially a bit nervous about my move, because my mattress needed to go out the window, and several pieces of furniture needed to be completely taken apart. The D1 crew rose to the challenge, and and got everything done extremely quickly. On top of that, they were extremely friendly and easy going. I would highly recommend D1 for your next move!
