Home renovations require careful planning, clear communication, and respect for the property, which is the approach we bring to every project at HFX Reno. Serving Halifax and surrounding areas, we first take time to learn how you use your space, determine your priorities, and identify where your budget can create the greatest difference. We provide a clear estimate before beginning work, avoiding vague costs and unexpected changes along the way. Our team protects surrounding areas, maintains an orderly job site, and works carefully to minimize interruptions to daily life. We also keep homeowners informed with clear timelines, honest pricing, and regular updates, managing the project from the initial design idea through the final finishing work.
We offer basement, bathroom, kitchen, garage, condo, backyard suite, and whole-home renovations, in addition to complete painting and flooring installation. Our work includes improvements such as framing, insulation, flooring, lighting, storage, layouts, cabinets, countertops, showers, vanities, tile, fixtures, and finishing touches. We know Halifax homes may have older foundations, tight layouts, and weather conditions that can affect renovation work, and our experience helps us anticipate those characteristics. Whether updating a single area or renovating the entire home, we provide solutions designed around your vision, lifestyle, and budget while maintaining reliable service, quality workmanship, and a straightforward renovation process.

Services
We provide complete kitchen design and renovation services, managing layout planning, cabinet selection, materials, and installation through one dedicated team. Our process covers each stage from the initial design through the final walkthrough. We also provide IKEA kitchen installation, including cabinet assembly, fitting, and the related plumbing, electrical, and countertop work required for a complete installation.
Our basement renovation service covers the entire project, from initial assessment through final paint. We address moisture concerns, foundation cracks, insulation, framing, wiring, plumbing, flooring, lighting, and drywall using materials suited to basement conditions. You receive a defined layout, material plan, schedule, and price before work starts, with direct communication throughout.
We renovate bathrooms with attention to both the visible finishes and the work behind them. Plumbing is routed to suit the new layout, tile is properly waterproofed, and details around drains and fixtures are completed carefully. From demolition to installation, our trusted tradespeople follow a planned process designed to provide consistent quality and dependable results.
Our team delivers painting work with preparation, materials, and technique matched to each space. Walls, ceilings, cabinets, and trim are patched, sanded, and taped before interior painting, while exterior surfaces are scraped, sanded, and primed. Colour, sheen, and application methods are selected carefully, and every project receives the same attention regardless of size.
We provide professional flooring installation with careful subfloor preparation, precise installation, and thorough finishing. Our team works with hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and tile, completing every stage ourselves. We plan layouts, material choices, and timelines before work begins, while accounting for moisture and temperature changes to help ensure the finished floor remains solid and durable.
We renovate condo units with close attention to the limitations created by shared spaces and building rules. Construction schedules are planned around permitted noise hours, while flooring, fixtures, lighting, and soundproofing are selected with neighboring units in mind. Our team also works within existing layout, plumbing, ceiling, and space constraints while maintaining consistent standards for every stage.
We handle garage renovations from initial planning through the final finishing work. Structural checks come first, followed by insulation, wiring, drywall, flooring, and storage suited to the demands of a garage. Whether the goal is a workshop, gym, or additional living space, our consistent crew remains involved throughout the project to keep the work organized and complete.

We worked with HFX Reno for a kitchen install for our cabin in The Falls and it was the best experience - highly recommend. We're out of province and have had a LOT of trouble with trades and communication. OJ was a breath of fresh air - always proactive with his communication and when we ran into hiccups (as you always do) he communicated the issue and then came back with a solution. His quality of work is super high (he cares), he does what he says he is going to do when he says he's going to do it (super reliable). It even impressed my father who is almost never impressed. Don't hesitate - highly recommend HFX Reno!
