I will not mention the name of this manufacturing company but it's one of the top brands on the market. Solid wood windows with aluminum clad exterior surface - beautiful! My honest opinion - don't ever install aluminum clad wood windows. The problem was lingering under the cladding for years I believe; otherwise they wouldn't fall apart on me like they did.
What happened is that the aluminum cladding was leaking water along the glass pane and over the years the lower wood sections in 10 windows and one slider of the patio doors completely rotted out. I wasn't aware of that until black spots started appearing under the varnish surface of the interior wood.
