Beverly was a college student and Joe was working in the family greenhouse business. Together they hatched a plan for running seasonal garden centers in Lexington KY. Sitting around the dining room table of their little one bedroom apartment in Georgetown KY, they finally settled on Sunshine Grow Shop as the name for their little venture.

Having been born and raised in the Lexington area, we've had the privilege of serving the southside of Lexington for the past 17 years. The first 15 years at Zandale Shopping Center and the last 2 years at our new location on Southland Dr.

When the first Sunshine Grow Shops opened in 1984 James Ellis was there working hand in hand with his brothers and mother; of which James say's he learned how to work with the public from his mother, She had a genuine love of people. James tries to incorporate everything his parents have taught him from the growing of plants to the growing of personal relationships with the public in all his dealings.

Logan Gardner was born and raised in Louisville, KY where he learned the flower shop business from the ground up from his father Tony Gardner (owner of Sunshine Grow Shop of Louisville for over 25 years). He spent his childhood working the family business while juggling schoolwork as well as trips to the greenhouses in Georgetown, Kentucky.
