Sean is very knowledgeable on decking and willing to talk customers thru options. The team doing the work was excellent, had attention to detail and quality, and willing to answer questions as they went. A very positive experience and we look forward to a new year with a new deck.

We have been thrilled all summer with our new low-maintenance deck railing with "drink rail." In March, American Deck replaced our 30-year-old rotting white-painted railing. (Our 30-year old redwood deck was still sound.) The price was competitive. Sean Conway's knowledge of the products available contributed suggestions that made the end result better than we had hoped. The work was done by highly skilled men, timely, neatly, efficiently. There are many odd-angle miter cuts in our railing and all were made perfectly. After the work was done, we had one issue at the steps. Sean was out the next

Update: From 2 stars to 5 stars. First of all, the issues were addressed by the company and they did come out to fix the grout and provided extra stones to accommodate any further water drainage issues (which was causing the stones to go under the fence). I also have to disclose that we were new homeowners when I rated them 2 stars. I have since used multiple contractors for different issues and learned that Sean and co were actually pretty good. I was coming from a place of expecting perfection but thats just not how it works, especially in contracting. Lesson learned and I would highly recommend

Best contracting company we have ever worked with, and we have fully renovated a three-story townhouse in D.C. so we have worked with many, many contractors. Sean and his team were extraordinarily professional. They met every commitment; listened and responded to our needs; made appropriate and excellent suggestions; were sensitive to the neighbors; and turned in a work product that exceeded every expectation we had. They replaced a roof deck and railings on two patios. Not only are we fully satisfied, but the neighbors have thanked us for giving them a "work of art" to view. We recommend American

Having any work done during a pandemic can be a challenge, but working with Sean and his team was great. We had 4 estimates to replace a 36 year old deck with a composite deck. American Deck and Patio gave us a very detailed proposal with many options which helped us get to the amount we budgeted for the project. A couple of little hiccups were solved quickly and Sean answered any questions promptly. We love our new deck and look forward to enjoying it this summer.

If you want a deck, this is the place to go. Most people who hire a contractor probably expect to have some kind of problem. The job takes longer than expected, the contractor hides things or swaps out materials for cheaper stuff, the workers are problematic or leave a mess.
Sean and his team are the exact opposite of that in every way. They were communicative from the very start. They gave us a great idea of what to expect and a fair price based on what others were offering. He gave an estimated timeline and stuck with it. When we hit a small snag getting some paperwork needed for the permit
