Step 1 Hearing testing may vary from a hearing screening to more comprehensive hearing testing such as an audiogram, tympanogram etc. Step 2 Hearing aids will be recommended only if the test results indicate that a hearing aid will improve the patient's speech understanding. Step 3 Choosing which hearing aid manufacturer and style of hearing aid is suitable will depend on your hearing loss and the shape of the ear and ear canal.

We offer products to assist you in hearing correction which is not the same as hearing protection. You can choose from either OTC hearing protection or custom hearing protection. Wakefield Hearing Center has devices suiting your lifestyle, such as devices for musicians, hunters, entertainers, factory workers, swimmers and more!

Richard Wakefield is Board Certified in Hearing Instrument Science and Licensed in ND and MN. Richard possesses a master's degree from the University of ND and a Juris Doctorate from Hamline University. He is a member of the International Hearing Society and a former President of the ND Hearing Society.

Wakefield Hearing Center has partnered with Modern Technology, Inc. installing hearing aid loop technology in churches and public venues throughout the region. We are the only hearing and engineering entity specializing in hearing technology. Hearing loop technology enables the hearing aid user to hear a crisp, crystal clear replication of speech and music.

Dr. Wakefield is so wonderful! My mother had been having problems with her hearing aids falling out, and my father happened to mention that to a former colleague - not really expecting anything to come of it.
That former colleague of my father's happened to be a patient of Dr. Wakefield (who now works in an adjacent profession to Dr. Wakefield), and he called Dr. Wakefield to let him know about my mother's issues with her hearing aids.

A friend recommended me to Wakefield Hearing, and I've been totally pleased ever since. I've been a patient since 2014, and Mr. Wakefield has been a tremendous help in his analysis of my hearing loss and recommendation of the right solution. My hearing aids have been extremely reliable, and my hearing loss is such that I cannot get along without them. Rarely does one find a gentleman like Richard Wakefield. He is amazing and was able to detect my issue immediately! I had been to several hearing centers prior and had not been satisfied but once I met with Richard and he performed some tests, I knew I had finally found a person that I could trust.
