Now, over 20 years later, Joseph is a leading expert in cellulose insulation. Hi this is joseph Wolf, We've had another great day here insulating another smart customer's home with cellulose spray insulation.
I want to show you something that not a lot of people have necessarily seen, but cellulose is made of recycled newspaper. It has boric acid, which is found in common I cleaners, like Visine. It has borax, which is a common household soap. With those and recycled newspaper, (I take a bite), it's the greenest of the green.
So now that we've insulated this home I wanted to show you a couple things. Cellulose is installed at almost 3 pounds per square foot. So, as you can see, there's no room for selling. As I tap on this wall, I feel that it's somewhat firm but not hard. So it's still a little bit soft but firm. Cellulose, when it's sprayed, sticks to the side walls, and the plywood, the wiring, the plumbing, and everything that it touches for the life of the home.

Cellulose insulation, when sprayed into wall cavities creates the best overall solution for stopping air infiltration. Air Infiltration is when the air from the outside forces its way into the home through cracks and gaps and through inadequate insulation. It forms what is called a monolithic bond that sticks to itself and everything it touches for the life of the home unless removed.

Blown cellulose used in the ceilings and walls. Cellulose was sprayed into the walls and cellulose insulation was blown in to the ceiling after netting was installed tight.
