Steve Phillips is a second generation drywall journeyman. He started his career working for his father's drywall company in the early 1980's. He later perused his talents as a journeyman drywaller with local Southern California unions. After years of mastering his trade Steve started Steve's Ceilings and Drywall in 2002.

Popcorn ceiling has many different aliases, acoustic ceiling, cottage cheese ceiling, bumpy ceiling, textured ceiling, dirty ceiling, etc. They were very common and highly desired throughout the 1950's through the 1980's of new construction homes. Popcorn ceilings were useful for deadening noise and for it's cheap cost.
