Diego Smude, was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In his early twenties, he immigrated to Israel where he worked in the art business for five years before moving to the United States. In 1985 he and his wife, Mary, established a plant nursery and garden in Plant City, Florida. His love for plants and art merged to create Metals & Nature.
Metals & Nature is an artistic wrought iron company that designs and fabricates iron works of all styles. In a world of mass production we take pride in the craftsmanship of handmade iron pieces.
Our 2 acre garden in Plant City, Florida began over 30 years ago. The natural trails under the mossy oaks are a canvass for unique statuary and our handcrafted iron designs. Many come to simply enjoy the serene flower blooms, strutting peacocks, and elegant wrought iron dcor. Others come to inspire their custom wrought iron designs and work with Diego to create the ideal wrought iron piece.
