Marcus started out working for his father, Joe Hoone who founded Grass Roots in 1983. Joe instilled the work ethic and dedication to the principal of taking care of each customer as he would want to be taken care of. Marcus went on to study at Purdue University with the goal of eventually taking over the reigns of the family business.
That succession happened in 2008 and Grass Roots has maintained its supurb level of customer service ever since! In his spare time, Marcus enjoys family camping trips, traveling with his wife, any and all activities with his kids, as well as hunting and fishing. He is also an avid racing fan, particularly sprint cars.
Grass Roots has the pleasure of sponsoring Hopkins Racing and driver AJ Hopkins starting in 2017. Abby has spent the last 12 years working as a RN in adult & pediatric ICUs, ERs and Emergency Medical Helicopter transport with LifeLine as well as raising her children. Abby and Marcus married in 2015 and combined her 3 children with his 3 children.

Those eggs will hatch out and will become the damaging white grubs that we want to prevent! Grubs damage the yard by chewing off the root systems of the grass plants in widespread areas. These areas of damage can be up to 10-20 feet in diameter! These areas will turn brown becasue the roots system is damaged to the point that it kills the grass in that area.
