In 1768, Ruth Blay, a 31-year-old teacher and seamstress from South Hampton, was tried, convicted, and publicly hanged for concealing the body of her illegitimate baby.Ruth Blay was the last woman executed in NH. Based on the book by Carolyn Marvin, "The Hanging of Ruth Blay" The mural was conceived and designed by: Terrence Parker.

Back in November, the team working on the 'Working' sculpture at the Foundry Garage gathered to install the sculpture and make Porstmouth history as the first public art sculpture installation as part of the City's Percent for the Arts Ordinance.
