Select a store that will install or bind for you. You don't want to be stuck in the middle with an installer saying a problem is the store's fault and the store saying a problem is the installer's fault. Carpet tiles are installed with pressure sensitive adhesive. That means replacing a worn or stained carpet tile is as simple as pulling up one tile and laying in a new one. For complex projects, it is easier to do carpet tiles in stages compared to broadloom carpet. Carpet tiles typically cost a little more than traditional broadloom carpet in the same quality per square foot.

Since stairways are constricted areas, a smaller pattern will serve better than a larger pattern. Large patterns get lost since you don't see enough of the pattern. Not only are smaller patterns more aesthetically pleasing, they tend to be better at hiding traffic patterns. Also, if your stairs make a turn with either a landing or pie-shaped steps it can be best to avoid geometric or square patterns.
