Lagniappe Hearing
Lagniappe Hearing is a small, locally-owned business. Our community-based practice is committed to helping individuals with hearing loss. We want to improve their quality of life through better communication and personalized hearing health care. We offer a wide range of services for adult patients including comprehensive hearing evaluations, custom earplugs, hearing aids and cochlear implant evaluations.

Our audiologist is dedicated to helping others hear in big ways, spending more than 19 years serving the people of Central Louisiana. Hearing loss affects an estimated 48 million Americans of all ages, making it the third most common physical condition in the U.S. Many factors contribute to hearing loss, including aging, noise exposure and disease.

Fortunately, most patients can benefit by amplification from hearing aids. About 9 in 10 patients with hearing loss can be helped by hearing aids. Today's digital devices are smaller and more powerful than ever, and include many state-of-the-art features designed to improve comfort, convenience and clarity.

About Us
Report

Hearing
Report
Hearing is an important part of our daily life. In fact, healthy hearing contributes to our overall health. More than 48 million Americans have some degree of hearing loss, but adults wait an average of seven years before seeking help for their hearing loss. Untreated hearing loss can worsen as well as contribute to other and potentially serious health conditions.
Hearing Loss Causes
Report
Noise exposure is a leading cause of hearing loss. It usually develops gradually and may go unnoticed until it has progressed to a point where treatment options are limited. There are steps you can take now to prevent hearing loss down the road. Some types of hearing loss are unavoidable. That which occurs with aging (presbycusis) can't be halted, but regular hearing tests can detect problems early, before they worsen.
Types of Hearing Loss
Report
In order to diagnose hearing loss, your doctor will review your medical history, discuss your symptoms, and give you a physical examination followed by a hearing evaluation consisting of a series of audiological tests. A conductive hearing loss occurs when there are problems in the outer ear, ear canal, eardrum or middle ear.
Hearing Test
Report
Hearing loss is progressive, and often comes on so gradually you are unaware of a problem until it has reached an advanced stage. The sooner you recognize an impairment, the more effective a solution will be. Catching hearing loss early can enable you to continue with the lifestyle you are accustomed to.

I have been waiting for several years for hearing aid technology to get to the point of acceptable sound quality to suit my expectations. I have been reserching the latest technology for the past few months.
I came to the conclusion that the technology may be ready for a trial run. I filed out questionnaires & talked to people that returnd my calls to set me up with appointments & conferences. They wanted to send me sometimes 100 miles away & even wanted credit card #s to guarantee payment for the appointment. I had already been to one of the large hearing centers locally a few years
