Dallas County Master Gardeners
Interested in becoming a Dallas County Master Gardener? We are currently revamping the Master Gardener School program and will release details soon. If you are interested in receiving updates on the status of the program, please add your name to our potential student list. Dallas County Master Gardener Association, Inc. (DCMGA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting horticulture education and volunteer service throughout the county.

It is a component of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, an agency of Texas A&M University and the Texas Master Gardener Association and is open to people of all ages, regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, handicap or national origin.

DCMGA programs and events provide learning opportunities to county residents through speakers and demonstration gardens, as well as garden projects for local organizations that provide services to individuals and families in distress.The Dallas County Master Gardener program is one of the largest in the nation with over 400 Certified Master Gardeners.

Research Demonstration and Education Gardens
Report
Dallas County Master Gardeners developed the one-acre-plus Raincatcher's Garden of Midway Hills to teach the public, including homeowners, school children, and professionals, about Earth-Kind, water-conserving horticultural practices developed by Texas A&M University, including rainwater capture, drip irrigation techniques, soil preparation and plant selection.
Demonstration Gardens

In our Oak Cliff Parks project, Dallas County Master Gardeners (DCMG) partner with Friends of Oak Cliff Parks (FOCP) in their mission to restore and maintain horticulture in five of the historic parks of Oak Cliff.
Community Gardens
Report
Located on land donated by Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, this four-way partnership includes the City of Farmers Branch, Master Gardeners and the local community. The goal of Farmers Branch Community Garden is to bring the community together in a shared educational experience and to establish a hands-on charity project.
Community Service
Report
For more than 14 years volunteers with the Dallas County Master Gardeners have provided leadership for the gardening program at Juliette Fowler Communities. The goals for our gardening program are to educate the public about good horticultural practices, water conservation, propagation of seeds and cuttings in our greenhouse, vegetable and herb gardens, as well as incorporating plants for a Monarch Waystation.
Public Events

The Dallas Arboretum is a 66-acre color display garden on the shores of White Rock Lake. The mission of the Arboretum is to build and maintain a public venue that promotes the art, enjoyment and knowledge of horticulture, while providing opportunities for education and research.
