Trusted Garden Center & Landscaping Services in Baltimore Since 1923
Green Fields Nursery was established in 1923 as a small-scale grower of unique plants in Mount Washington. Our founder, August Dubbert, shared horticultural expertise with neighbors while specializing in rare plants like Aucuba japonica 'Variegata'. Relocating to Falls Road in 1940, we expanded under Louis Dubbert's leadership with daylily hybridization. Acquired by Jim McElroy and Jerry Dobbyn in 1986, we entered a growth phase with Peter Bieneman joining in 1988 to add landscape architecture expertise. Major renovations in 2005 created year-round showrooms and a Christmas shop. Today, led by Kathleen McElroy and Jim McElroy Jr., we operate as a full-service garden center and landscaping company. Our 100+ years of community commitment focus on exceptional service and unique plant selections. We offer premium plant material, soils, pottery, and garden essentials while maintaining a successful landscaping division. Our team provides professional design and installation services for residential and commercial properties. Seasonal offerings include fresh-cut Christmas trees, wreaths, and holiday decor with delivery and setup options.

I finally got around to checking out @greenfieldsnursery When walking in I was immediately amazed at all the #houseplants they carry. I did go looking for a string of hearts but they currently were out of… stock. But on good note I was able to pick up this beautiful #calatheawhitestar 😊 I am definitely going to be making a trip back. They had everything from Hoyas, Micians, string of turtles, cactus, they even had a philodendron pink princess for less than 300 for a full plant. #plantmom #localnursery #plantshopping #houseplantsofinstagram #houseplantcommunity #crazyplantlady #plantsmakepeoplehappy

Usually a very great experience when I visit. Today was very abnormal; you could tell the cashier was new and very overwhelmed by the minimal amount of pardons in the store; called for back up to help with 2 customers. Very rude when asked about prices, and to double check prices for me as if every question I was asking bothered her. Store was… very Cluttered as well as the greenhouse; creating a very unsafe atmosphere; you could barely walk without hitting plants; all the while workers are walking by and knocking into huge Fig, monstera, and even beautiful regal leaves... poor plants! Love this place, a lot of choices and prices are reasonable. Will definitely come back and buy more plants for the house.
