Q: Why should you have your septic tank pumped out and when? A: Having a pump out schedule, is the long term way to protect your system tank and drainfield from early failure and thus to protect you from septic system backups. The time in between pump outs will vary based on the size of your tank and the amount of usage, but we recommend having your tank pumped out every 2-3 years.

If properly designed, constructed, and maintained, your septic system can provide long-term effective treatment of household wastewater. If your septic system isn't maintained, you might need to replace it, costing you thousands of dollars. A malfunctioning system can contaminate groundwater that might be a source of drinking water.

If you have completed Steps 1 & 2 then Nordic Pumping will clean your tank for between $450 and up depending on travel time, weather and location of tank. Septic systems that have not been properly maintained for a long period of time may incur additional costs for extra gallons and extra labor costs.
