J+S has the technical and creative expertise, collaborative skills and public engagement experience to participate in a range of public and private project types including streetscapes, parks and playgrounds, campuses, trails and natural drainage systems.
Our work ranges in scale from tiny community improvements to major public initiatives. In our workshop, including 4 professional employees, we consistently deliver high quality work due to tight teamwork and extensive principal involvement on every project. We have won awards for design, planning and community participation.
Steve has over 30 years of experience as both an architect and structural engineer. Steve has led the architectural side of our practice from 2007 to 2018. Before co-founding Johnson+Southerland, Steve was a principal at the Miller|Hull Partnership.

Report
The ability of Johnson+Southerland to incorporate input from community members of all ages, create a carefully thought out design, estimates and time lines has surpassed our expectations. This was without doubt a successful partnership. Though our Master Plan was completed months ago, they continue to be accessible as we work towards funding construction of our project.
