About Us
Report
This New York chimney sweeping business has a proud tradition of serving the local communities of Troy, Brunswick and Averill Park since 1983. Dennis Broughel (now a retired Troy Fireman) was the first sweep and then Bryan Delamater took over and built his business on the premise of hard work and great customer service.
Chimney Services
Report
We perform CSIA Level 1, 2, and 3 inspections and can determine chimney integrity and whether or not your particular installation and chimney system meet current safety standards. We remove dangerous, flammable creosote from inside the chimney. We then inform you of any problems we may see. Should we find a problem with your chimney we will present you with a solution to fix your chimney to ensure it meets current safety standards.
Annual Cleaning
Report
We are certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA). Their mission is "to foster public awareness of issues relating to chimney and venting performance and safety, and to promote the education of associated professionals through technical training and certification opportunities." We intend to stay right in the middle of the market.
Chimney Repair
Report
When a chimney has physical problems or performance issues (like backdrafting), one potential solution is installing a stainless steel chimney liner. Since rebuilding a masonry chimney would be significantly more expensive, a liner is often the most cost-effective approach. Because they are often sold with long-term warranties, investing in a quality chimney liner pays off off in the long term.
Safety Inspection
Report
Hearth, Patio and Barbecue Association recommends having your insert and venting system inspected annually and serviced by a CSIA certified chimney professional. Collar City Soot Slayer will make sure the appliance is installed properly per the code and manufacturer's recommendations. If your fireplace, stove or chimney hasn't changed and you plan to use your system as you have in the past, then a Level 1 inspection is required.
