Questions
What is the difference between solar thermal and solar electric systems?
Solar thermal systems heat water using 60-80% of solar energy, while electric systems convert sunlight to electricity at 12-18% efficiency. Thermal systems are more cost-effective for heating needs.
What financial incentives are available for solar installations?
The federal tax credit covers 30% of system costs through 2032, dropping to 26% in 2033 and 22% in 2034. This applies to residential solar heating systems.
Do your solar systems require regular maintenance?
Yes, routine maintenance ensures optimal performance. Our service team provides inspections and repairs to maintain system efficiency and longevity.
Can solar heating systems work in cold climates?
Yes, our systems are designed for Colorado's climate. Solar thermal technology efficiently captures sunlight even in colder temperatures for consistent heating.
How long do solar heating systems last?
Properly maintained systems typically last 20-30 years. We use durable components and provide maintenance services to maximize system lifespan.

My husband and I are very pleased that we chose Capitol Solar Energy Company LLC to handle the removal and replacement of our solar panels, so our hail damaged roof could be replaced. The workers did an excellent job. Our dealings with Mr. Laurent were completed in a timely and professional manner. We are happy that they did not charge a penny more than their original estimate. Thank you for a job well done. Ida and Joseph Lash

Phenomenal experience. Laurent was timely in getting back to us, working with us on pricing, and even dissuaded us from upgrades that wouldn't make sense for our system. Their master plumber, Keith, understood our complex, dated system within 5 minutes after his arrival and diagnosed our issue in less time than that. He provided clear, concise explanations, offered efficient solutions and next-level possibilities, and finished the job in well under the time we had expected. So pleased with this group. Will definitely work with them again.

As a high volume roofing company, we have constant needs for efficient solar panel and replacement. Laurent and his team have always given us accurate dates and followed through for both us and our mutual customers. Great team and great follow through, which is tough to find in the residential solar market.

Capitol Solar installed and serviced the solar hot water and in-floor radiant heat in our Carbondale home. The system was professionally installed and worked well. I would recommend Capitol Solar to anyone considering this type of setup.

Terrible customer experience. They came out and took off the panels immediately so the roofing contractor could get his money, but they took 3+ months to come back and finish the job, which cost me $170/mo. Then they had the audacity to call and complain because they weren't paid immediately, even though it was their workers that didn't pick up the check we left under the mat for them. I do not recommend this contractor and will not be doing business with them in the future.
Edit: Owner was extremely rude to my wife and demanded full payment before the solar panels were reinstalled on our house
